What Am I Placing my Trust In?

ImageI struggle to trust the Lord. I default to trusting my bank account, to trusting my husband’s guidance, my health insurance, my doctor, my resilience, my education, my instincts…

In plain English, I prostitute my trust to the most secure thing I can wrap my physical mind around. When those things fail, when those things prove insecure, well then…I look to the Lord.

I want my trust in the Lord to be my default.

This week, I am meditating on these scriptures. Join me…

Monday: Jeremiah 17: 5-8

Cursed is the one who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord. He will be like a bush in the wastelands, he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert in a salt land where no one lives. But Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. Whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit!

Tuesday: Proverbs 3: 5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

Wednesday: Isaiah 30:15

This is what the sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel says: In repentance and rest is your salvation! In quietness and trust is your strength.

Thursday: Psalm 20:7

Some trust in horses; some in chariots; but we trust in the name of the Lord our God!

Friday: Psalm 32:10

Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him!

Saturday: Proverbs 11:28

Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.

Sunday: Romans 9:33

As it is written: See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame!

Rejoice in truth, rest in His presence and remember His provisions!

Trust in Him!
